Artist Statement

Elokin
is a dirty hapa hard femme. You can find her in the garden in high heels, or up to her queerest miniskirt in mud- building homes and turning compost. Food, soil, and seeds inspire Elokin’s artwork and activism, combining to create living structures and edible installations.

- For myself, I am slowly learning to reclaim art as a tool for social change and freedom. Each day I continue to create, to share resources, to try loving deeply, learning respect for the earth and the communities that share this lifetime. It's not always so easy, eh?

I strive to weave my passions into my crafts and creations, hoping to share my experiences in a way others can taste, smell, replicate, and understand, to go on to plant seeds of creativity and resistance together.  -Elokin

About the photo- happy memories of bike tour through the Olympic Peninsula. A magnificent ride, highly recommended. As usual, this photo is courtesy of the fabulous Ami Puri. If you're interested, read our tour journal (as yet
